Inaugurated at the Craiova Christmas Fair
Lucia Prăjișteanu created a never-before-seen concept in Romania, specially designed for the Craiova Christmas Fair. Spread across nearly 5,000 square meters, a magical mix of attractions was brought to life: a panoramic Ferris wheel with over one million lights, Santa’s elevator, a train ride to the Elves’ Land, Santa’s reindeer-pulled rollercoaster, Grinch’s spinning bench, a virtual reality sleigh ride to Santa’s Land, a two-story Venetian carousel, and bumper cars on an artificial ice rink.
THE FLYING SANTA PHENOMENON
Flying Santa, the phenomenal attraction of the Craiova Christmas Fair, went viral online — not only in Romania, but also abroad. Videos of Santa Claus flying in his reindeer-drawn sleigh above 40,000 people gathered in Mihai Viteazul Square, surrounded by a shower of fireworks, gathered over 600,000 impressions on Instagram and 1.8 million views on TikTok in just a few days, placing Craiova on the map of the most spectacular Christmas fairs in Europe.
“It was a real challenge to bring the Flying Santa concept to Romania, as there was high demand for the supplier from several countries. Even the organizers of the Christmas fairs in London and Stockholm wanted this attraction — but we managed to bring it to Craiova.
The Santa in the sleigh is real, and there are only a few people trained and specialized for such a stunt. Since it takes place at height, extra safety measures are required, and everything demands great care and professionalism. In addition, special structures were built to support the sleigh, resulting in a truly impressive show that stirs strong emotions among visitors.”
